Our business primarily supports non-standard auto insurance programs in California, Texas, and Arizona, with a strong emphasis on responsive claims service, disciplined claim handling, technology, efficiency, and treating customers fairly.

We are building a modern claims organization designed to move faster than traditional insurance companies while maintaining the professionalism, technical discipline, regulatory awareness, and customer focus expected from an experienced insurance operation. We are creating and advancing our AI platforms in all aspects of the business

As we grow, we are looking for talented claims professionals who want to be part of building something—not simply maintaining the status quo.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Inside Property Damage Adjuster to join our Claims team.

This position is responsible for managing property damage claims from initial assignment through resolution. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a high-volume, technology-enabled claims environment and will be able to independently investigate claims, evaluate damages, assess coverage, communicate with customers and third parties, coordinate vendors and field resources, and negotiate fair claim settlements.

This is an inside/desk adjusting position, but it requires strong claims judgment and ownership. You will use photographs, videos, estimates, statements, documentation, inspection reports, repair information, and other available evidence to evaluate claims and make well-supported decisions.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical claims knowledge with excellent customer service and communication skills.

What You Will Do

Claim Investigation & Handling

  • Handle assigned property damage claims from FNOL through resolution.
  • Review loss information, policy provisions, photographs, estimates, reports, statements, and supporting documentation.
  • Conduct timely and thorough coverage and liability investigations as applicable.
  • Determine the nature and extent of damages using available digital documentation, photographs, video, estimates, inspections, and other evidence.
  • Identify potential coverage issues, exclusions, limitations, misrepresentation, fraud indicators, or other concerns and escalate appropriately.
  • Establish appropriate claim reserves and update reserves as claim circumstances change.
  • Maintain accurate and complete claim files and activity notes.
  • Develop appropriate claim action plans and follow through on outstanding items.
  • Evaluate estimates and invoices for accuracy, reasonableness, scope, pricing, and consistency with the documented damage.
  • Communicate claim decisions clearly and professionally.

Customer & Claimant Experience

  • Serve as a knowledgeable and empathetic point of contact throughout the claim process.
  • Explain coverage, claim decisions, next steps, documentation requirements, and settlement information in language customers can understand.
  • Set realistic expectations regarding claim timelines and resolution.
  • Respond promptly to customer, claimant, agent, attorney, vendor, and internal inquiries.
  • De-escalate difficult conversations while maintaining appropriate claim-handling standards.
  • Deliver a claims experience that reflects our commitment to being responsive, fair, and easy to work with.

Estimates, Vendors & Repairs

  • Review repair estimates and supporting documentation.
  • Work with independent adjusters, field inspectors, repair facilities, contractors, appraisal resources, and other vendors when necessary.
  • Coordinate inspections or field assignments when a claim cannot be appropriately evaluated through desk adjusting alone.
  • Review supplemental requests and determine whether additional payment is supported by the facts, policy, and applicable guidelines.
  • Identify discrepancies between reported damage, inspection findings, estimates, photographs, and other claim documentation.
  • Maintain productive relationships with vendor partners while maintaining appropriate claims controls.

Claims Quality & Compliance

  • Handle claims in accordance with applicable policy language, company procedures, regulatory requirements, and established claims-handling standards.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable state requirements in California, Texas, and Arizona, as well as other jurisdictions assigned to the role.
  • Maintain appropriate claim documentation to support decisions and payments.
  • Recognize and appropriately escalate potential fraud or suspicious claim activity.
  • Escalate litigated, complex, high-severity, questionable, or otherwise sensitive claims in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Participate in claim audits, quality reviews, training, and process-improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current on applicable licensing, continuing education, regulatory, and claims-handling requirements.

Technology & Process Improvement

  • Use claims-management systems, estimating platforms, digital inspection tools, document-management systems, and other technology required to manage claims efficiently.
  • Embrace digital claims tools and emerging technology rather than relying exclusively on traditional claims processes.
  • Identify repetitive or inefficient processes and recommend improvements.
  • Contribute ideas that improve cycle time, accuracy, customer experience, and overall claims performance.
  • Help build scalable claims processes as the organization grows.

The Person We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Customer-focused. You understand that a claim may be one of the most stressful experiences a customer has and know how to communicate with professionalism and empathy.
  • Technically strong. You understand claims, coverage, estimates, documentation, and the importance of making decisions based on facts.
  • Decisive. You can make a reasonable claim decision without unnecessarily passing every issue up the chain.
  • Organized. You can manage a significant inventory without losing track of details.
  • Technology-friendly. You are comfortable learning new systems and believe technology should make claims better and faster.
  • Accountable. You take ownership of your claims and follow them through to resolution.
  • Adaptable. You understand that a growing MGA will continue to evolve, and you're comfortable helping build processes rather than waiting for someone else to tell you how everything should be done.
  • Team-oriented. You know when to work independently and when to bring in a manager, field adjuster, SIU, legal, underwriting, or another resource.
  • Tough.  Claims are hard, but also rewarding and fun.  The rights candidate cannot be concerned with investigating claims and having tough conversations.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to join a growing insurance organization at an important stage of its development.  When we say we move fast, we mean it.  No big box carrier bureaucracy, no weeks before change can get approved or let alone occur.  If we don't like a process on Monday, it could be different on Tuesday.

You won't simply inherit a book of business and follow the same process that has existed for 20 years.

You'll have an opportunity to help shape how claims are handled, how technology is used, how customers are treated, and how a modern MGA builds its claims organization.

We value people who bring ideas, challenge inefficient processes respectfully, take ownership, and want to help create a better claims experience.

We also understand the importance or work life balance and pride ourselves on being flexible to your personal needs.  That being said, you will be required to work hard and provide the flexibility back to the company.
